In a compelling presentation filled with humor and anecdotes from years of service at the highest levels of international affairs, Powell, former U.S. secretary of state, describes the delicate process of forging alliances, bringing people and countries together and promoting universal human ideals of democracy and peace around the world. Following the presentation, NRF Chairman Kip Tindell, Founder and CEO of The Container Store, will lead a fireside chat with General Powell. The day where 100% of shoppers will be 100% connected is fast approaching. In this world of the hyper-connected and digital customer, stores continue to experiment and innovate. Sharing results from the industry’s premier NRF-FitForCommerce Omnichannel Retail Index, this session will cover who’s doing what and who is leading the innovation curve. From data-equipped stores and sales associates, to smart mirrors and dressing rooms, this session will share some of the “bricks-and-clicks-and-tricks” being used in the industry and being envisioned by omnichannel and digital innovators. The Choice is BOTH!: As detailed in the RIS News report, Digitizing the Store, digitizing the store is crucial to retailers’ success. We’re looking forward to understanding other ways retailers can implement a digital experience to further engage consumers. In this session, three of the industry’s leading executives will discuss how they have developed a physical AND digital strategy to create a more real-time, intimate and human relationship with their customers. The speakers will explore why we must do more to share knowledge and data about customers to provide them with the products, services and experiences they desire. It’s not a choice between physical or digital presence--the choice is BOTH.
