Bill Barton, a seasoned sales management executive in the retail industry, will spearhead Displaydata’s sales team to further its explosive worldwide growth
Oct. 30, 2018 – Bracknell, U.K. – Displaydata, the number one provider of dynamic digital display solutions incorporating fully graphic electronic shelf labels, announced today that Bill Barton, a professional sales management executive with over 20 years of experience in retail technology, will take on the position of SVP Sales.
In his new role, Barton and his team will strive to ensure that Displaydata’s industry-leading electronic shelf labels (ESLs) are fulfilling their commitments to improve store operations and associate productivity while driving an enhanced consumer experience. Longer term, Barton plans to hone in on strengthening direct sales, consulting efforts and channel distribution in order to impact businesses across all verticals of retail and beyond as industries including manufacturing, distribution and schools begin to show interest in ESL technology.
Prior to joining Displaydata, Barton worked for more than 20 years with NCR Retail, most recently serving as the Eastern U.S. Regional Sales Leader where he was responsible for all of the company’s portfolio sales. His entire career has focused on supporting retailers and helping them improve the consumer experience, increase revenues and margins and recognize operational efficiency gains. With experience in leading world-class sales teams, along with pursuing partnerships across all retail verticals, Barton has the foundation he needs to lead the Displaydata sales team as the company takes price management efforts and investment to the “last foot” of retail – the shelf edge.
“Bill is a recognized leader in the retail industry and we’re excited to have him join at a time of mass growth as leading retailers adopt our ESL solution,” said Andrew Dark, CEO, Displaydata. “With a deep understanding of retailer’s challenges and pain points, Bill will help grow our business and facilitate partnerships with diverse retailers across the globe to meet their strategic business objectives.”
“The timing of ESLs in retail has reached a critical phase in the hype curve that was unrealized until recently,” said Barton. “The convergence of Displaydata’s ESL technology, consumer demands for immediate price and promotion management at the shelf edge, and labor optimization requirements in retail is incredibly exciting for our company. As the market for ESLs continues to evolve, Displaydata is uniquely positioned to support our clients globally.”
